Angelina goes to the San Diego Zoo – On the go with EF #56

    November 16, 2019

Hi everyone and welcome back to “On the go with EF”.
I hope you’re well. I am still here in San Diego and today,
I’m going to explore the San Diego Zoo. I’m so excited because I love animals. The one animal I want to see the most is
a tiger, so let’s hope that I get to see one. Let’s go! Oh, look! There are flamingos. Wow! It looks like a lot of them
are standing on one leg and they’re resting their
heads on their bodies. I guess that’s how they sleep. Oh, look at these baby monkeys.
It looks like they’re playing with each other. Or maybe that bigger one is the mom. Hi! There are so many monkeys in here.
That’s a baby one right there. That looks like the dad … or the mom.
They all look the same. Here’s a map. Ok, let’s see. I’m here.
I think I’m going to take the Tiger Trail. Oooh! Here are the tigers.
I really want to see the tigers. Here’s the okapi, pronounced oh-kaa-pee
and wow, look at that tongue. It says that the long, black
tongue is used to eat, and that their tongues are so long that
the okapis can clean their own eyes and ears. They’re really cute and they kind of look like
a zebra from the back, but still … a little gross. Here’s something called a fishing cat.
It’s from Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka. It says “these animals bite.”
Let’s see if I can read it in Spanish. “ Estos animales muerden.” Here’s a hippo. He looks like he’s sleeping.
Oh! It’s opening its eyes. Hello. I found the panda. I’m excited.
Let’s go up and see it! Okay, look. I can match my hand to a panda’s paw,
which is the same length, but, obviously, the panda’s paw is much wider.
This is the foot. Close! Here’s the panda. I don’t see it.
Oh. There he is. It’s so cute and fluffy. Maybe it’s taking a little break from the sun.
There’s quite a bit of sun out here. This panda’s name is Bai Yun and
it’s the mamma bear. She’s so cute! Tiger Trail.
Let’s go this way. Oh, look. This is nice.
It’s called Skyfari. I wonder if I can go on one of those
and maybe see the park from above. That would be cool. You can see everything from up here. Time to get off.
Thank you. I think I’m getting closer now.
Oh! There it is – the tiger. This is a Malayan tiger and I’ve heard that this is 1 of only 350 left
in the world, so that’s pretty cool. I always think that tigers
look so big and majestic. I just think they’re really cool animals. I’ve had such an amazing time
here at the San Diego Zoo. One of the most amazing things was that
I got to see the tiger, which was great. I also got to ride the Skyfari, which was awesome.
And look what I got! I got this cute little panda. If you want to win this, you should comment
below and please answer the question: What is your favorite animal and why?
If you win, I’ll send this to you. I’ll see you next time. Bye! Next week: Kendra, Maria and
    Liam make holiday treats.

    Light Rail System in Milano

    September 22, 2019

Here is a tram arriving and looks good. Well. It is called “Light Rail System” in North America. We often find them running in some cities. Actually North America’s trams look bit newer design than this type. But, you know I do not have lots of chance to see European trams. So I am exited to see it.

    Abandoned Railroad Crossing Railroad Archaeology

    August 25, 2019

    Hello ladies and gentlemen another
abandoned railroad crossing here in North Miami, I’ll include a Google Maps
link cuz I’m not sure I’ve been driving around this little industrial so
I’m not sure the Avenue but I’ll find it on Google Maps and include a link down
below so let’s see so here the sidewalk ends right this is
facing south this would be facing north this would have been an industrial spur
and then this facing this is facing east see we see no traces of trail of rails
or spikes they probably see yeah they removed a cross buck on both
sides, there’s a car coming let him pass on that side I don’t see the location of the cross buck either
where it was so yeah I just went right in here It’s a jungle in there This is facing north so this is pretty
much like all we see here just these the grade that’s it see uh Oh trying to dig for it but you can’t
see them there how unfortunate and I’m gonna try to see my intuition
tells me that crossbuck would have been somewhere around here but nope
that was probably taken out so long ago all righty guys please subscribe or like
thank you very much for viewing over and out

    Small Railroad Crossing

    August 23, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen I’m over here
in Clewiston Florida, it’s RailROL82 over here on the intersection of Aztec and San
Luis here we see the pavement marking here we see R X R sign and I’m gonna
show you this railroad crossing over here on the SCF feline that South Central
Florida Express this is, up until a few years ago was only cross bucks and
lights they installed the gates pretty recently funny enough for this line used to be owned by the FEC you can see it says FEC railway company
there, that was way back when and then that way is towards Moore Haven and us 27
there we see an old rail and then crossing itself this is facing
towards South Bay that has a GE signal base you don’t see many of those around
safe tran signal base harmon lights digital, emergency contact info. It has the
contoured lights on the crossing gate and then over here the grade crossing is
in pretty good condition that’s a WC Hayes mechanical bell up
top with the contoured lights we got progress lights over here
oh nice we got a GE signal base and safe tran gate mechanism. Harmon lights all
around over here as well WC Hayes bell. So this rail here is
from 1941 see right there 1941 Steelton rail. North, South toward South Bay and
you see the relay case see some cane fall along the track there single track and those are my favorite visors
there those are the ones that look like a hat, not the squared off ones, alright
guys so give you one last shot over here thank you very much for viewing please

Walking Abandoned Railroad Bridge From Decades Ago

    August 19, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here, your humble railroad archaeologists they were here in
downtown Savannah near the historic district and we see a lot of economic
progress here we see the old highway of pilings right there to your left then
the new highway to your right boom we see a lot of cars a lot of industry
going on here we see cranes building buildings we I just saw a freighter leave and we
feel the Port Authority building over here however all this economic progress
is overshadowed by a black cloud which looms over us which is symbolic for the
end of the railroad as we clearly see over here this is a truly heartbreaking
sight guys look at this see so both sides of this were made of all
break the both of the foundations that’s that authentic feel bridge right see if I could find a date on this real can’t beat that kind of engine right
there next to the major highways why do some pop you can see the fall foliage in
front of him yeah turn it up for a date – but this
rail is so corroded I cannot see a bead on it
holy crap it’s got ice breaking underneath so yeah you can see it went into the
portal I want to go cuz there’s a security booth right there and they
might think I’m being a terrorist something but yeah you can see uh it
goes right into the point right there and then I will take you on a tour back
this way yeah I see some radio I see okay that says nothing though I mean I’ve
date okay so I will go back onto the street now
and show you where this met you so you got cars parking on this rail
here with I don’t think they have to worry about a train coming this way yeah we can see it ends up for another
times but there’s construction going on right over there and it goes right into
that crane I could run into that crane right there because that road is closed and I can’t
walk beyond that point so that would be the end for now I’m gonna try to go on historic aerials
dot-com and see if I can date back look back through you can go through back
    through decades like in the 40s and 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s and see when I was
installed and when I was abandoned alright guys thank you for viewing
please subscribe her like take care we give you one that shot of the bridge
here the older removes the bridge and then three monstrosity they thought
right next to it thank you for viewing please subscribe her like take care over

Oregon Coast locomotive chugs along after nearly a century

    August 15, 2019

WRITE FROM THE START. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS, YOU CAN TAKE A SPECIAL RIDE ALONG THE OREGON COAST, UNLIKE WHAT YOU’D SEE FROM YOUR PASSENGER’S SEAT. ELISE HAAS IS IN GARABALDI TO SHOW YOU HOW A STEAM TRAIN IS STILL RUNNING AFTER NEARLY A CENTURY. ELISE: HERE AT THE OREGON COAST SCENIC RAILROAD, THERE’S A LOT OF BEHIND THE SCENES WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO GET THIS STEAM LOCOMOTIVE UP AND RUNNING. IT TAKES ANYWHERE FROM THREE TO FIVE HOURS TO HEAT THE STEAM ENGINE UP FOR IT’S DAY OF TOUR UP TO ROCKAWAY BEACH. OPERATORS GET HERE AS THE SOON AS THE SUN COMES UP, GREASING THE BEARINGS, MAKING SURE EVERYTHING IS IN WORKING ORDER. THIS 1920’S TRAIN TAKES PASSENGERS BACK IN TIME, GIVING THEM THE EXPERIENCE OF WHAT IT WAS LIKE WHEN THE RAILROAD WAS FIRST ESTABLISHED IN OREGON IN THE EARLY 1900’S. THE KIDS REALLY LIGHT UP WHEN THEY SEE A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE AND THEN YOU SEE THE ADULTS ACTING LIKE KIDS WHEN THEY SEE A STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. IT REALLY BRINGS OUT THE JOY IN PEOPLE. IT’S KINDA LIKE BEING THE ZOO KEEPER FOR DINASOURS. YOU’RE SEEING SOMETHING THAT YOU DON’T SEE EVERYDAY. ELISE: WE’RE ABOUT TO HOP ON BOARD FOR A RIDE ALONG THE SCENIC COAST. COMING UP TOMORROW IN OUR NEWSCAST AT NOON, I’LL SHARE THE FULL EXPERIENCE OF WHAT’ IT’S LIKE ABORAD THIS STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. FOR NOW, REPORTING IN TILLAMOOK COUNTY, ELISE HAAS, KOIN 6 NEWS.

Bobcat Clearing Railroad Orlando FL (407) 257-2478

    August 15, 2019

So today what we’re doing is, we’re cleaning
railroad tracks at a facility here in south Orlando, so they can get the train in. The
inspector won’t let them bring the train in any more. So basically what we did, we
brought in the bobcat. We’re scooping all the dirt away. Taking the pressure washer,
getting it close to the tracks, so you can see over here. Then we have Bobby over here
on the pressure washer. We’ve got Ike. And then Alex with the bobcat. Let’s take a
look at what’s going on. Just pushing it all down out of the way. And then Ike taking
it all out now over here, taking it out by hand. And then basically what we have is Alex
with the bobcat as you can see he’s just slowly pulling this away with the bobcat,
clearing it away, trying to get it down to the railroad ties. It’s a lot of work but
as you can see it’s working pretty good. Got all this here. Pulling that out, hauling
it all away. You can kind of see, this is more of the after. And then here this is before,
you can see it’s just solid, all the way down. And again, as he scoops it away, you
can see how thick this was. And the inspectors came in and told them, you have to be able
to see the railroad ties before you can use it anymore. This is Paul, 888cleanup, signing
    out. Have a good one.

    Abandoned Railroad Being Restored

    August 15, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, so this is the before as you can see the rails were buried here in this picture. And in this picture, they used this track as a parking lot. You can see all the vehicles that are parked on it. But welcome to 2017! Here we see the first crossing. It has no gate, just lights and a cross buck. Here we see the emergency contact info. And we’re going to see a Safetran signal base here. And this is where the track used to be. You can see off to the right side there that there’s some cross ties they’re going to lay for the new track. This is going to be utilized for the Brightline now. So it can give, it can facilitate rail traffic in this area. This is looking East That’s looking South. This is looking North here. And this is where the spur used to come from the CSX main known as the SFRTA here in South FL. You can see the relay case off to the left there. And You can see this is where the train traffic stopped. And here we can see the crossing number 2. with the emergency contact info here And a Safetran signal base as well, no correction this is Modern Industries. A modern industries signal base. You can see lights are Safetran Cross buck up there. And there you see the where the track traffic stopped. This is where they’re going to lay the new track-age now. There’s the old relay case. Like I said, this is going to be used for Brightline. Please Subscribe or Like! Thank you very much for viewing. Over and out.
