Abandoned Railroad Bridge FEC Overseas Railway 2

    August 27, 2019

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Channel #5 Hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 your railroad archaeologist here today We’re one step ahead a few miles ahead of the first bridge I filmed which was over there somewhere and This is the next one, Channel #5. I’m going to include a Google Maps link in the description. So let me go ahead and take you this is what this would look like over here Okay so you have the new bridge off to your left which the new bridge substituted the old bridge sometime in the early 80s or or late 70s perhaps So yeah, so this was a originally a railroad bridge As you know part of the FEC Overseas Railway It was built in the early 1900s. and The first train to Key West got there in 1912 so it was built sometime before 1912. Maybe like 1901 1902 somewhere around there Then after 1935 the Labor Day Hurricane destroyed it and it became a vehicle highway so Here we see an iguana A couple of iguanas I don’t mean to scare you buddy no no no okay Look at these turquoise waters here doesn’t it just invite you to jump in? Hey little guy! Whoa! Look at that! iguana on iguana violence okay Now let’s go on the bridge and see if we see any dates Oh so you can slightly still see the pavement marking, the yellow. that divided the highway in the middle those are all birds over there right? Yeah, it’s like a colony of birds. and then That’s the original pavement there From the 1930s probably Let’s see what it looks like from this side. By the way, look at that. This is Florida Bay right here. Power lines and you can see the old and new right here actually wait, I’m going to walk down so you guys can get a better perspective of it. This is the retaining wall here that I’m standing on. You can see the old bridge right there It looks like the aqueduct in Rome. And over there We can see the very middle of it I think there used to be a drawbridge there if I’m not mistaking. That’s why they built the new one elevated because yeah because of This is where US 1 goes North so Let me see Yeah, that might be like the passage way into the, yeah that’s the passage way Florida Bay into the ocean there or one of them. Alright you guys Thank you for coming along with me on this tour I look forward to seeing you in the next video. Please Subscribe or like Thank you very much, take care Over and out

    Abandoned Railroad Reclaimed by Nature

    August 27, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here. We’ve got another abandoned railroad crossing as you can
see I still got some more of these from the last time on me okay so I’m going to include a google
maps link to my location down in the description This is where the spur went into this is the last trace of it then that
this goes from here this is facing East now facing
East No cross bucks, nothing I think that rail now I am facing west
and that’s where I began filming originally over there see how the sidewalk was built to accommodate the the railroad this would have been either
I don’t know if CSX was the last one to use it or seaboard incredible huh? so yeah guys I’m gonna include a Google
map link and then I’m going to walk over here so you guys know what where the
last rail goes or the last visible rail anyways so this side too, they built the
sidewalk to accommodate the railroad and zoom in here yeah one little clue though that might help us date this back, as you know as we are railroad archaeologist I noticed that this this
light post was installed October 1977 so if this industrial park was established
around 1977 it’s safe to say that this spur was probably put in around that
time all right guys. Please subscribe or like

    Old Abandoned Railroad Spur

    August 27, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m over here in Oakland Park, FL right next to the CSX main line. and look at what we have over here. We have an abandoned railroad spur. That used to service this warehouse over here. This is where the boxcars used to load. or unload. Classic SCL crossties. As this used to be a former SCL track back in the day before the merger. This is facing North and this would’ve been the end. of the spur. And now were going South again. Look at this. Look at this, they’re all over the place. Alright guys, I think That is it, there’s no more over there This is where the railcars used to load. Let me just take you guys here to the end of the line. I was trying to look for a date on the rails but they’re rusted beyond recognition. They have a layer of dirt here that’s been encrusted on them. Alright guys, thank you very much for viewing. Please subscribe, like, or share. Thank you. Bye.

    Liberia Railroad Crossing

    August 27, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen today I’m
over here in Liberia. I’ve always been curious what it would be like to
see a railroad crossing or a train in Africa right so given my fear of flying
in that I’m probably never gonna get on an airplane to go there, closest I can
get is Liberia here in Hollywood Florida I’ll include a Google map link so
you guys can us see what this locations all about, if you google that
you’ll find that there’s, a it’s a rough neighborhood now not very good things
associated with this neighborhood so I’m gonna go ahead and give you guys a tour of the
crossing here in Liberia so we have a fabricated metal signal base Louisville
Kentucky, WC Hayes arm WC Hayes gate mechanism and WC Hayes lights for 8 WC
Hayes lights and my favorite WC Hayes mechanical Bell up top endangered
species and then those are all Reco lights on the crossing up top and here
we see uh our first liquor store in Nigeria over here sorry nah Nigeria
Liberia then this is track view South see See this crossing was recently done you can see at this rails from 2015 and this is track view North over here I didn’t even have to get my passport to come to Liberia today, my lucky day and then you can see that rusted WC
Hayes mechanical bell up top over there we got kwik-e-mart over here already
very good and then over here we have another fabricated metals signal base WC
Hayes arm. Wait, back light is killing me over here. WC Hayes gate mechanism arm and WC Hayes lights WC Hayes mechanical bell and those
lights I believe those are different, there not
Rico there’s something else I can’t tell from this angle but yeah and here like in Liberia just
like the United States you have trespassers look at this guy then they wonder why people end up dead maybe he’s from the FRA and he’s just
doing undercover work Alright you guys, oh I forgot to give you a look at the emergency contact info this is an FEC line by the way, okay guys
and that over there is the relay case and that’s what a crossing in Liberia
looks like, alright guys thank you for viewing please subscribe or like over

    Removed Railroad Crossing

    August 26, 2019

    hello ladies and gentlemen RailRol82
here, this is a sad day for rail fans this here is the CSX homestead subdivision right and as you can see the crossing was removed recently they got this
sign now tracks out of service and then right now walking South and I think over here was where the
cantilever once stood yeah they removed, there’s no more signs of it see? so then this here is a track view Southwest and you can see
that the next crossing which is 232nd ST the signals are still there those signals are still there. I guess
their days are counted like they’ll probably be removed sometime soon so the tracks are out of service and then
I’m gonna cross the road now this is track view north
east a whole lot of cars coming, let me
try to see if l could film it on this side but on this side we got the same view
you got the pavement markings right there and you got the rxr right
there and then here you got the out of service sign this is the northbound lane
of Krome Avenue and here is where the cantilever stood too. There’s no traces, they removed everything. The washers the only thing I can see the wires everything was cut removed and the relay case is gone yeah totally totally track view NE guys let me
give you then another shot this way and yeah so I guess it’s just a matter
of time before the rails are pulled to won’t be seeing you guys much longer so
it was a pleasure knowing you and I had high hopes for you but I guess not everybody else did or who knows maybe you’ll be sold and reused again in the future it’s happened before all right you guys, Please subscribe or like thank you very much for viewing over and out

    August 26, 2019

Okay guys so I’m on Kings Highway and
I’m going to give you a tour of the end of the CSX S line. This, here we’re coming up on the crossing. This is going to be Northwest 10th Ave and these are the tracks right here. This is an old SAL, old Seaboard
line it is now CSX but CSX hasn’t ran a train
through here for years and nor do they have any plans to send another one, so
right now I’m headed southbound on 10th Avenue you can see in some parts
it’s there’s litter all over it that dead chickens, branches we’re coming up on a milepost here
that’s a milepost 66 it says, I think it says end Homestead block I couldn’t tell with all the graffiti behind it. Relay case This is another crossing I believe this is Campbell Dr so in there the track curves and then
there’s the old abandoned SAL station. It goes between those shrubs
there. You’re going to be able to see it you got to see there’s a spur coming up
there to the left is abandoned Train station built in the 1920s and
that’s where all the tourists used to disembark and then here is abandoned
spur, let me show you the train station and there’s the spur I actually have a video on this crossing
that I did a walkthrough this is where the spur this ends and then right
there there’s a wye you can see the switch in the distance
I’m going to make a left here as soon as this guy passes. You can see the
switch next to the crossing there and floor it okay I’m going to include a link for the video
that’s at the end of the track so you can see what it looks like the last
crossing it’s actually the last crossing in the United States and the end of the
CSX s line so please subscribe or like thank you for viewing guys over and out

goes into there and then so right now I’m headed south on Northwest
75th Avenue right it came through there under, well
this overpass was built recently but it that little grass grassy bridge
right there, that used to be a railroad the spur that went over there were first
showed you and then this here is North West 25th Street this is one of the main
arteries in Miami. Actually in Doral, so I’m waiting for
this light to turn green Ok green light now we’re gonna be heading east on
North West 25th Street so there is that bridge I showed you and then it came
into here you can see some of the ballast so then it curved over there
behind those pine trees then curved eastward and it headed towards the main,
UPS right there we’re coming up on North West 72nd Avenue you can see the sign North West 72nd Avenue probably too much backlight okay now we’re

    August 26, 2019

you hello ladies & gentlemen, RailROL82 here. Your RR archaeologist so it’s got time again I like to come back to
this location once a year in follow-up videos we’re gonna see this isn’t an
original abandoned seaport airlines burn we’re gonna see how its feared in the
last year and so right now this is Northwest both
I’ve anymore above Northwest 12th Avenue is the Metrorail
that start above bub sorry elevated on rail service here ma’am commuter service
and then this is where the spirit one is its I went into a produce market over
there and as we can see here there are no coffees across bug some signals
everything has been removed and yeah I’m gonna include the video that I took here
last year the line was obviously a lot more visible and it is now a lot of our
growth I’ve located in this line and they shut it off back there I think with
the fence but uh let’s see what we got okay yeah it is getting really covered up
previously I was able I think you were able to see the rails and I think one of
the rails was like an original 19 20 20 something real I’ll refer to my video
but yeah Mother Nature is definitely reclaiming this this is the sad part about being a
railroad archaeologist the umbrella for thank you join me as well they they date what are you date okay I

the nails sorry another girl spikes that one is a
bit much Sharon biggest star going to here by the way this isn’t the best
neighborhood in Miami sorry but land and there they were completely removed
completely so yeah I’m gonna take a while Jesse and
assume that when I come back next year see here you can barely already tells a
rail so next year I’m probably gonna have to bring like a bulldozer don’t
film this I do my update video on this julia side side guys
I mean if I was the city I tell I offered to come a penis of myself just
to preserve this nice stretch of original rail over here so the original seaboard tides – they
were never replaced with all concrete would entice say a couple of prayers in the name of
this fine served us spork over here oh he just kind of
lizard damn what a savage get here buddy this began as a an abandoned railroad
video and it turned into an Discovery Channel National Geographic video okay
see if I can make my way over here and show you guys we’re winning oh it was actually teased yes we got the material coming up above
us over there so I’m going to wait till I have a perfect yes you can see right here there’s one
rail right over there and then we got these settings so there was two rails
tooling in here at one point this is facing East right now
