I think it was 1995 or 1996 Let me show you There’s a rail over here Right okay, so that came out of the main right there This is West 8th Avenue & West 21st Street I’m gonna go around the block over here, and show you, I’m also going to include the Google Maps link in the description Okay, so this is West 8th Avenue Ok so this is the next block over this is West 20th Street, so I’m gonna be turning East bound on to West 20th Street Okay now we got a walk a few more about 100 or something feet that way Okay, so we’re coming up on Where the tracks came out of, where the spur came out of, you can see that building with the curvature And that fence there also has a curvature. I’ll show you right now so That’s where the tracks came out of right there Man somebody is… So the only visible evidence of any trackage here is right here These things went right there right here they split they went straight over there that way and This one went this way but yeah, there’s That’s it everything else here was pulled and removed there’s Nothing else nothing at all It’s facing south So that was our beloved spur I Hear that there used to be like a scrap metal over here something else that they used to pick up Yeah guys, and then that’s the metro rail on top, that’s Passenger So yes, sir This might be the last time I see you so, oh by the way There used to be a cantilever over here with no gates somewhere around here All right guys, thank you for viewing, please subscribe or like over and out

    Railroad Crossing Former Site FEC

    August 12, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m over here at a former FEC Railway crossing site. This is SW 64th ST in South Miami, FL. Here we can still see the RXR. It’s still pretty evident. Pavement marking. And There’s still some remnants of the old crossing. This old crossing, I’m going to include a picture of this is what it used to look like when it was active. I took this picture in 2004. And this is what it looks like nowadays. Track view, what would’ve been Track view South. And here we see an FEC Railway crossing sign. Some old crossing gates here. One buried there underneath all the pine needles. See if I can find again this crossing had no crossing gates, it was it was just lights, cross bucks, and bells. Here it is. This is this used to be here were the cables. And where they sawed it off right there. OK so what would’ve been track view South. There you have where the relay case used to be. See the cut of wires there also. And now I’m going to cross the street and give you what would have been track view North. Track view North. Wow! Look at, these at rails! Holy Molly! These are old wow! 1925! You guys can’t see it, but yeah. See uh… 1925 gees. That is amazing. Oh yeah here you can see something Maryland. Yeah. I’m going to have to, you guys can comment below if you’ve ever heard of Maryland manufacturing or Maryland Steel… Track view North I’m going to see if I can see where this crossing was Oh here it is. This is where it was cut off. And these were the wires that were cut right here. Here’s another crossing gate. cross ties. Please subscribe, like, or share guys. I thank you very much for viewing. Overgrown Railroad Crossing

    August 12, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m over here are about two blocks West of the Miami International Airport, and I’m going to show you guys an overgrown FEC industrial spur There’s two tracks here One is still used. I doubt this one is, this is a track view like This would be north east Right and check out this growth over here Doubt that they used that See the switches in the back over there Two switches one two okay then you got this track It’s pretty rusty Right? Yeah And then over here, what have we here? Cut… Look at that, is that sabotage? Oh wow Somebody vandalized it, they don’t work anymore Okay, so then over here we got Three concrete guards an MI signal base This looks like it might be a GRS? gate mechanism This is old, the lights are also a MI Modern Industries lights, Modern Industries bracket WC Hayes mechanical bell Emergency contact info Those are definitely incandescent lights My personal favorite My personal favorite visors as well Rico lights on the Crossing gate Another look at the cut wires, look at that Man this is a shame And then the grade crossing isn’t in too bad of a condition, I’ve seen worse You got track view here, South West That one like I said, might still be in use. Then you got the relay case right there, NW 70th Avenue and the DOT number I don’t think trains been thru here for a while Perhaps it’s lightly used, but doubt it Northwest 70th Ave, the DOT number and then in case you want to rail fan Or look at an abandoned railroad or semi abandoned railroad got a sofa right there And then on this side you got this guy And you got more growth on the track over here, a lot more growth A few years ago, I think like in 15 there was an abandoned mail train parked right over here But they since moved it It used to come out on Google Maps. I’m not sure if it does, but I’ll include a Google map link to this location So you guys can go back in time and see it. So then here you got a different one, you got a Harmon signal base. You have a oh, WABCO my bad the other one wasn’t GRS. It’s a Wabco gate mechanism. You can see WABCO Wow You can even see here well I don’t know if you can see here, but Beneath the the spray paint, it says model 75 grade crossing gate mechanism So yeah, then we got MI lights all around here, too MI bracket, no mechanical bell on this side and Rico lights on the crossing gate. Here you got the old, the old ties The real is from 1950 1-9-5-0 I know Mel Perry tells me that the weight of the rail is right next to the date, but I do not see it here Okay, so you got that then yeah, it’s just growth all the way this way see Growth, not good See a piece of a crossing gate here, all messed up, man! All messed up! So yeah guys That’s gonna conclude this tour, please subscribe or Like. Thank you very much for viewing Over and out

FEC Oversea Railway Original Part 1904 Rail

    August 12, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m over here in Islamoradaa, FL. in the Florida Keys Right next to US1 over here Overseas Highway and they have this monument here I don’t know about the caboose being original but the rails underneath were legitimately part of the Oversea Railway as I see that one of the rails over here has a date and it’s barely legible. I don’t know if you guys can see but it was from 1904. The 0 and the 4 are still there. The 9 is somewhat still there, but the imprint of the 1 is vaguely still there. If you guys want to zoom in on it… and maybe the underneath part of this caboose was also original. Perhaps they renovated the top part to make an office out of it But yeah, I’m guessing this is an original caboose from the era also. 1920s music playing This was made after the fact. This building over here. But yeah, no doubt that rail is indeed part of the original Oversea Railway I’m guessing the cross ties are too. Sometimes the cross ties have like a nail with a plaque that says the original date on them. Although these, I don’t recall seeing these in new cross ties. I’m guessing they have a built in, bent piece of steel. with an S sort of shape to it maybe that was indicative of the manufacturer of the cross ties. They all do. This one actually has a double S Alright guys, thank you for viewing. Please subscribe, like, or share. Have a nice day. Bye guys.

    Abandoned Railroad Spur

    August 11, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, we’re looking at a MOW storage over here which is also an abandoned FEC industrial spur. On NE 195th ST and West Dixie Highway Here I just stepped on some old cross ties. And there you can see the MOW storage. This is the end of the actual well the spur. for now, and then this is where it used to lead into. See the old rusted rail? Tie plate right there. cross ties. Here we see a big tree growing right on the rail. And This is Dixie Highway over here. So if you guys ever saw a train here, I’d love to know when was the last time you saw it? I’m guessing it was sometime in the 70’s or 80’s But yeah, where that truck is, that’s the end of the line right there. They just paved over it. So this would be facing South There you see the where the box cars used to load. And I’m going to be walking North again. To where I originally began filming. Hurry up and cross and then here is the FEC mainline which is currently used for freight but in a few months, they’re going to start running the Brightline on it. Alright guys, and then here is where the rail met the road. and back to our starting point. Please Subscribe or Like, guys! Thank you for viewing. Over and out.

    Abandoned Railroad Walk Along Tour

    August 11, 2019

Northwest 79th Avenue, Medley, Florida guys right next to Miami Another abandoned railroad right here this used to be part of the FEC. Was a industrial spur and I’m going to walk give you a tour Let’s see up to where it leads. I think it was cut short, just short of the main line over there You could still see some rails here. underneath the We got some cross ties here see if I can find the date no way More cross ties. Ain’t she a beauty! So right now, I’m walking South guys. I’m gonna include a link or Google Maps link For this location, so you guys can follow along here Here’s a rail right there At this point it becomes very submerged in dirt. Yeah over here Do not see any traces of it over here. It’s really really all here. This is one Here you go! Right off, about a block or so away you can see the crossing right there If you access some old Old maps online like old maps online dot org or historic aerials you can probably see When and where this track connected to the main? There’s a bend a bend curve up ahead Towards the left That would be towards the east. I’m walking to South right now. And here they paved over it on this side There you can see was cut off some time ago that time that cut is rusted so And guessing maybe like in the 90s you can see a tie plate and a spike, that thing is nobody’s taking that out And then yeah here you still you can see the curvature of the building they build the building after the railroad so it went a East there. There’s no like here. Maybe the rail cars used to load over here. The box cars. But yeah, there is no Trace of any rails at this point here there’s the Medley branch and Let’s see in this little overgrown shrub area. We can spot a rail or two No, just some concrete cross ties here. Yeah, they pulled everything over here nothing So again that’s facing East. See a switch here, zoom in Then there’s a spur that goes into that. It’s a Sears Outlet I believe. Then West You got some lovely cloudy skies today All right guys.
