    First Abandoned Railroad Crossing

    August 17, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here, so today we’re gonna embark on a new journey this is gonna be
the CSX Homestead subdivision here you can see the advanced warning sign the
pavement markings this is Southwest 152nd Street so this is the first
crossing right after the Y which I’m gonna show you the first crossing after
the Y which is out of service it hasn’t seen a train since I think I think there
was a train here in 2006 one train that moved real cars that were stored over
there it’s out to here but there’s no what
there hasn’t many customers on the line since like twelve or thousand twelve or
2013 okay so right now I am heading westbound
on Southwest 150 second Street one five two I’m running through the
Google Maps ticker this location they said this is the first crossing on the
line and what’s stopping that they should
very nice about it Friday and then here we’re going to see as CSX
a spine or homestead extension milepost 50 3.81 then here we we have AWC Hayes a
Sigma bass and invents this gate mechanism Ebell up top the cantilever is
Lincoln industries and then this is facing north east right well this rail
was put in in oh yeah in 2017 I guess it’s when when they had to haul
away though those real cars I told you about because maybe the line not the the
rail couldn’t not extend on the train and it would the world it would have
derailed so they had to swap it out so over there
about a mile down is the Y and then solder that white well that Y is used by
train uh-oh 721 which goes out west to collect the rocks at the Rock Creek and
then here we have tracked you oh by the way there’s a signal base sorry really
so this is chasing south east
you have a diagonal crossing here and this is about 4:30 p.m. so I’m right
in the middle of rush-hour traffic and you can see how crazy it is to so far
across the street but your humble servants your railroad archaeologist is
gonna try to do that for you by the way the lights up top or am i
likes sorry you know WC needs then we got that broken or crossing get up there and we have one on this side but man
this is class in this girl’s gonna be pretty tough okay guys so I made it to the median
right and then here we have oh no this one’s missing its visor and vents this
game mechanism WCA signal base w see these lights Novell traffic to stop that
red light and then here we have another WC haze a signal piece and the track view Southwest right there yeah this this club this grade was
recently done but here we can see the original rail and it’s from on 19 1934 original rail from 1934 okay LED lights brief these are WCS yeah WCA
is our signal base and vents this game mechanism and those are definitely WC
haze lights around alrighty guys so this is the first abandoned crossing on the
CSX homestead subdivision with the 1934 rail on it thank you for viewing look at
the old ties here please subscribe our light thank you over and out

    Destruction at Railroad Crossing

    August 15, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen so this here
is right next to the Miami International Airport I don’t know if this was this
looks like the site of a horrible accident because, look at this we got this
over here street light right sticking right off of
the foundation yeah it looks like a horrible accident and then what caught
my eye was that as I was driving over here this is the the Lehigh spur right
to CSX Lehigh spur give you a tour of the crossing, so thats facing west this is a
MI signal base you got you can see over there I’m going to show
the relay case Milam Dairy Road s-line Lehigh subdivision milepost 1042.39 okay
then over there we see actually we see that there was a spur here at one point see the crossties right there right yeah
it was definitely a spur there so yeah so that’s facing west as I said MI
signal base that was covered but I’m guessing it was MI because
the lights are mi well actually one light is mi and one light is safetran see
the bracket e bell and then over here emergency contact info
we got a Harmon cantilever and
one safe tran light and one harmon light Harmon light has the visor that I like
see how it’s different that this one yeah the one the right is the one that l
prefer okay we got the cross bucks cantilever up top we got our Harmon
lights and safe tran too and then this is what I wanted to show see this is facing North I’m going to cross the road now This one was taken off to Look at that I don’t know if this is a product of Hurricane Irma or
somebody hit it so this is a safe tran signal base
Safe Tran gate mechanism and safe tran lights this is track view East and then over
here we got an mi signal base that would be an MI gate mechanism
these lights are mi as well we got a we got a mechanical bell now we’re talking. MI
signal base WC Hayes gate mechanism safe Tran and that’s a WC Hayes Mechanical bell uptop. Reco lights onthe crossing gate and here we got an mi cantilever and those lights let me see are they mi
no they’re safetran. Well yeah, actually one is MI There you see a plane coming in. Okay guys please subscribe or like thank you very much for viewing

    hello ladies and gentlemen
so this video you’re gonna see something I had already shown you but I’m gonna show you something else I hadn’t shown you on at the same location
so on that side we have a US&S tear drop bell right I think it’s the only one left
in Miami and I’m gonna get that so here we have a oh it’s the USNS and then here we
see the rails protecting it so this is a USNS signal base old from 1941 you see
the date there emergency contact info DOT tag safe tran lights all around and the
pinnacle from the seaboard days up top here we have track view west towards Hialeah some voodoo right there in a garbage bag sidewalk crossing so let me show you from this side this
is an original US&S tear drop bell safe tran lights all around
the rails over here too because the protection point US&S signal based also from 1941 WRRS bracket and you can see that that mast is pretty rusty yet it probably has some
interesting stories to tell so here are some well remove the ties and this is
track view east towards downtown Miami here you have a MI relay case and let me give you a shot of the to
drop bail from this side think that that might be the only one left in Miami
possibly South Florida do you guys know of any other teardrop elves please
comment below I’d love to know her or there’s another one because I really
this is the only one I’ve seen so alright guys please comment on that and
then thank you for viewing please subscribe or like take care over and out

Railroad Crossing Removed Before and After

    August 15, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m over here at SW 40th ST which is also Bird Rd in Miami, FL. and this is the site of the former FEC Railway Right of way That went up South. This is looking South. Met up with US 1, with the mainline along US 1. That went to the Florida Keys and eventually become into the Oversea Railway. But yeah, as you can see, this is where I’m at. And this is the railroad bed here. Facing South. This would be looking North. And this would be the foundation where the cantilever once stood. See the big screws that held it in place here. There’s 8 screws. There’s 4 on that side and 4 on this side. And this is where the where the crossing gate stood. And this is where the crossing was. Apparently, they’re going to turn this into a trail. all along the former right of way. It’s going to be Ludlam Trail. Here’s all the bulldozers and heavy equipment. That’s going to undertake the job. In this 2008 picture, you can clearly see the pavement markings in the bottom facing West on Bird Rd. Cantilever up top. And in this 2013 picture we can see that there’s nothing left. No No pavement markings, no cantilevers no crossing. Completely gone. Please Subscribe or like. Thank you for viewing. Over and out.

we have the crossing this oh wow look WABCO wabco signal base and this one has the US&S back from the the seaboard days okay we have a safe train gate mechanism
WC hayes lights WRRS bracket man this is like the Frankenstein of crossings here and an E bell, nice here we have the emergency contact info premier products cantilever see what
kind of lights these are WC Hayes right WC Hayes lights with my favorite
visors cross buck and WC hayes lights up top as well this is the western side of the
crossing and I’m gonna see if I can cross this is a kind of a busy Avenue
here Northwest 17th Ave yeah ok so then on this side we have a premier products cantilever emergency contact info another WABCO signal base, I’ve never
seen one of these before safe tran gate mechanism WC hayes lights Oh look at that a Wabco Bracket, E bell and this crossing gate
doesn’t go all the way up because it’s gonna interfere with the power line so
then here we have the relay case and track view east towards downtown Miami, this is one of the loading docks here it’s kinda like a third-world country doesn’t

    Abandoned Railroad Being Restored

    August 15, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen, so this is the before as you can see the rails were buried here in this picture. And in this picture, they used this track as a parking lot. You can see all the vehicles that are parked on it. But welcome to 2017! Here we see the first crossing. It has no gate, just lights and a cross buck. Here we see the emergency contact info. And we’re going to see a Safetran signal base here. And this is where the track used to be. You can see off to the right side there that there’s some cross ties they’re going to lay for the new track. This is going to be utilized for the Brightline now. So it can give, it can facilitate rail traffic in this area. This is looking East That’s looking South. This is looking North here. And this is where the spur used to come from the CSX main known as the SFRTA here in South FL. You can see the relay case off to the left there. And You can see this is where the train traffic stopped. And here we can see the crossing number 2. with the emergency contact info here And a Safetran signal base as well, no correction this is Modern Industries. A modern industries signal base. You can see lights are Safetran Cross buck up there. And there you see the where the track traffic stopped. This is where they’re going to lay the new track-age now. There’s the old relay case. Like I said, this is going to be used for Brightline. Please Subscribe or Like! Thank you very much for viewing. Over and out.

Railroad Crossing Gates Removed Before Hurricane Irma

    August 14, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen today is the
Friday before hurricane Irma strikes and I wanted to show you guys uh some
preparations that the FEC took here on northeast 17th court on milepost
338.8 in Wilton Manors. They decided to bring them the crossing gates that are in
danger of flying with the tropical storm or hurricane force winds so let me go
ahead and show you the first one here As you can see, they left it in the down position got a progress Signal base WC Hayes gate
mechanism right WC Hayes lights all around And may I add that those are not LED lights I like those So yeah we got WC Hayes lights all around 2 tracks and there we see the emergency contact info see FEC Railway so this would be track view South and then that would be where they left the crossing gate they used tie-wraps Here we got the pedestrian crossing I guess they figuered that this they might be LED lights I’m sorry
take that back pedestrian crosing gate so since its small its it not gonna pose
as much as dangerous that one would so they left decided to leave this one on
this is a WC Hayes signal base here WC Hayes gate mechanism and we got
WC Hayes lights all around also those are my favorite visors by the way we got an
e bell up top you built up over there too so as soon as this car passes I’m
gonna go ahead and show you This is the North side of the crossing see the signal there so here we see that
this one was removed and here we have a progress signal base as well
WC Hayes arm WC Hayes gate mechanism WC Hayes lights all around the top emergency
contact info two tracks and then here we have track view North here we have
crossing gate was put temporarily for the duration of a
hurricane Irma you know where we got the relay case and I think this might be the
control point Wilton Manors on the FEC line I think this is might be the work
that they’re doing a double track for the bright line and then here we have
another WC Hayes signal base WC Hayes arm WC Hayes gate mechanism and WC Hayes
lights all around as well up top and we have a WC Hayes mechanical Bell look at
that! beautiful, beautiful, beautiful alright guys let me introduce you guys to one of my most favorite, I was going to say
people on the planet boy to me he’s like a person it’s my dog Happy, Happy say
hello to the camera My boy Happy Alright guys Give you a shot of the crossing again see the trees? That’s the very outer bands of Hurricane Irma which is 450 something Miles from South Florida

The Railroad Crossing That is No More

    August 14, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here. Your railroad archaeologist who just found another
abandoned railroad spur here in our in a Chicago Illinois so here is where the
spur went into right first of all let me show you this sign this was for the
train conductors to warn them to get off the side of the car because if they were
to dig a you’re on the side of the car if they were right in the side of the
car they’d be squished you up against the side of the building or fence or
those are doctor so they warned them to get off to the side of course here you
have a great crossing and let me show you though these are made of steel like
Jack was rusty they’re not made of wood steel Oh got those extraordinaire meter
would so yeah it’s still pretty uh decent looking shape I wonder how long
ago this was abandoned I’m going to include the Google Maps link the
description here you have the actual rails and then it went into whatever this
place is you can still see the indent I love you can see the indent it’s right
above my finger there the curvature and then the main the main track sit right
behind that here is the other crossbuck this one has a dot tag on it still right
over here and this one is also made of steel CFO I can see a spike type plate but do
not see anything of the sort I’ll see here if no yeah you can’t even
see what the rails are over here it’s raining but your railroad archaeologist does not
believe in rain ya know they are it looks like the train
even went all the way back like aside from these docks to your – right here it
went all the way back because that door back there seems pretty tall tall enough
to it to admit Oh a real car in there yep it still got it loves Oh actually
yeah here it is here’s the Ralph oh right right right there it is whoop there it is
we got rales alright so then that means it’s right here where this foot is and
you were to follow a straight line oh yeah it’s all going over at this
point if I had a shovel of you probably dug it up not at home base so I don’t
have my proper archaeology oh come to me show you guys what this looks like like
yeah this has been a walk as I advanced warning sign er the pavement markings
were all faded and then this is what that crossing would look like from afar this one was big visible from if
somebody was driving on this side let me give you guys a proper perspective you
yeah you see the crosswalk was all the way hidden like you could barely see uh-huh all righty guys please subscribe if you
have it hit that notification ball so you can get alerts when I upload my
videos on Wednesdays and Sundays get some alerts on them god leave me a
comment let me know what you think of this video and take care of yourselves
have a good one bye bye

Abandoned Railroad Industrial Spur Hollywood Florida

    August 14, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen I’m over here on
Dixie Highway just one block N of Taft and there’s an abandoned industrial
spur here that i just found. Here you can see where it used to come off the
main line. This is facing North. You can see the ties here and over here you can see the
actual spur. there’s a rail to my right. It used to come this way South
South bound see it wasn’t standard clearance I’m guessing it’s been abandoned for a
while because I don’t even see faces of of the crossing gate or cross bucks
anything no signal box so it goes there it goes south here
across dixie highway and then i go it just goes into that Sidewalk they pick
that they paved over it with the sidewalk in other words, they put the sidewalk
over it yeah there’s no traces anywhere no pavement marking so been abandoned
for a while alright guys i’m waiting for a train here give you a quick shot of
the railroad crossing over here on taft and then they’re also going to be
replacing those the rails here I see because a few blocks South, thiey bought some ties
new concrete ties there and they removing some of the old wooden ties and I also
see some some rails up right so yeah this is all a quick shot again of the
spur walking north again alrighty guys well
please remember to like subscribe or share and I thank you very much for viewing bye
    bye
