3 Unused Railroad Crossing Drive Along Tour

    August 26, 2019

Okay guys so I’m on Kings Highway and
I’m going to give you a tour of the end of the CSX S line. This, here we’re coming up on the crossing. This is going to be Northwest 10th Ave and these are the tracks right here. This is an old SAL, old Seaboard
line it is now CSX but CSX hasn’t ran a train
through here for years and nor do they have any plans to send another one, so
right now I’m headed southbound on 10th Avenue you can see in some parts
it’s there’s litter all over it that dead chickens, branches we’re coming up on a milepost here
that’s a milepost 66 it says, I think it says end Homestead block I couldn’t tell with all the graffiti behind it. Relay case This is another crossing I believe this is Campbell Dr so in there the track curves and then
there’s the old abandoned SAL station. It goes between those shrubs
there. You’re going to be able to see it you got to see there’s a spur coming up
there to the left is abandoned Train station built in the 1920s and
that’s where all the tourists used to disembark and then here is abandoned
spur, let me show you the train station and there’s the spur I actually have a video on this crossing
that I did a walkthrough this is where the spur this ends and then right
there there’s a wye you can see the switch in the distance
I’m going to make a left here as soon as this guy passes. You can see the
switch next to the crossing there and floor it okay I’m going to include a link for the video
that’s at the end of the track so you can see what it looks like the last
crossing it’s actually the last crossing in the United States and the end of the
CSX s line so please subscribe or like thank you for viewing guys over and out

this location once a year in follow-up videos we’re gonna see this isn’t an
original abandoned seaport airlines burn we’re gonna see how its feared in the
last year and so right now this is Northwest both
I’ve anymore above Northwest 12th Avenue is the Metrorail
that start above bub sorry elevated on rail service here ma’am commuter service
and then this is where the spirit one is its I went into a produce market over
there and as we can see here there are no coffees across bug some signals
everything has been removed and yeah I’m gonna include the video that I took here
last year the line was obviously a lot more visible and it is now a lot of our
growth I’ve located in this line and they shut it off back there I think with
the fence but uh let’s see what we got okay yeah it is getting really covered up
previously I was able I think you were able to see the rails and I think one of
the rails was like an original 19 20 20 something real I’ll refer to my video
but yeah Mother Nature is definitely reclaiming this this is the sad part about being a
railroad archaeologist the umbrella for thank you join me as well they they date what are you date okay I

the nails sorry another girl spikes that one is a
bit much Sharon biggest star going to here by the way this isn’t the best
neighborhood in Miami sorry but land and there they were completely removed
completely so yeah I’m gonna take a while Jesse and
assume that when I come back next year see here you can barely already tells a
rail so next year I’m probably gonna have to bring like a bulldozer don’t

I mean if I was the city I tell I offered to come a penis of myself just
to preserve this nice stretch of original rail over here so the original seaboard tides – they

Historic Abandoned Railroad That Went to Florida Keys

    August 22, 2019

Hello ladies and gentlemen I’m going to be walking South today on the abandoned FEC tracks here, just south of the Flagler street crossing See these have been abandoned since around 2008 you can see Recording this for posterity so future generations you can see what once was here when this is removed concrete cross ties Track view North and track view South There used to be a spur along the That warehouse there you can see that’s where the boxcars used to load But I’m not going to venture in there in a tall grass Probably got snakes and who knows what in there? So North and South These are nice houses they have here I bet they loved it when the train used to come through here made a whole lot of noise And their houses vibrated Yeah, here. There is no visible remnants of the spur that went along the side of the warehouse So where you see those cars is SW 4th Street? They recently removed those crossing gates too few months ago. I have a video on that, so I’ll include the link to it as well as I walked I also, have a video on the other side I Walked from South West 4th street to Southwest 8th ST so I’ll include that link also in the bottom the description Actually wait. I just noticed there’s a rail right here on the side of the warehouse, it’s still visible Boom look at that On the other side too. Yeah hurry up and get out of here in case any snakes are eye balling me. I don’t know why bus drivers still stops There’s no gates here Tracks over grown But I guess rules are rules right so yeah, so this is Southwest 4th Street And like I said I have a video from from there on so I’ll include the link to it. So you guys can continue viewing it right now. I’m going to walk back One second, I have one of these beautiful guys on on my shoe here. take out the rest of them later okay, so I’m going to walk North now, so This is what it would’ve looked like If you were on a cab ride, Northbound. At a very slow pace Again, we see the houses off to our right now which would be East You can see some cross ties here, surprising after all that rock. Right? You can see the sweat glistening off me here it is Hot hot hot today. It’s like nine nine o’clock in the morning It’s probably like 92 degrees already But it’s never too hot for an abandoned railroad right? That’s what I say It’s like cross training over here. This would keep you in shape man, woof! Yeah So we’re coming up on the Flagler street crossing that is where I originally began filming Take the trail for now because I’m not going to go through all that Somebody’s living quarters over here nice right next to transportation can’t beat that. And then I make a run for it right up here right back where we started from Time for a drink of water guys, please subscribe like or share Thank you very much reviewing over and out

hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here. Your railroad archaeologist so I’m over here at the CSX Homestead
subdivision on you I tell you Rico drive processing I did a tour of this crossing
last year and today I’m gonna show you what this time looks like now that it’s
officially out of service here we can see some girls on it so Moodle right
there this thing was built this is facing
south west facing north east the sign was built in 1927 looking for a real
with the date on it 75 pound rail built by a Marilyn Marilyn steel I do not see
a date though but yeah I know for a fact that was built in 1927 and you can see
the old wooden ties and if I stand on this line okay it’s mostly gross just
see what it feels like to have been on this line this is what it was what it
would have felt like see a nice residential area next to here and
agriculture it’s on my right I’m gonna include a little map into that crossing
so you guys can know where I’m at and this is facing north east so you see
over here we can find a date on the rails yep
1926 right there 1926 built by the seaboard airline railroad design came
from my Annie from 5-9 the International Airport and do you ignore that it came
to haul away from from Central Florida to homestead homestead is a city that is
about a few miles south of here just to put it into perspective on this
Yurika drive here this crossing is 1 84th Street and this line ends at around
320 something 330 something Street so this is our about 20 miles away or so
from the end of the line you can see these rails pure rust that’s a shame because if these reels
could talk I’m sure they’d have some very interesting stories to tell and yeah there we see the gateless
crossing it’s really case on the other side so yeah guys that’s this crossing
and I’m gonna continue further south to Seoul I thank you for coming along with
me please subscribe for like dinking please comment over and out

    First Abandoned Railroad Crossing

    August 17, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen, RailROL82 here, so today we’re gonna embark on a new journey this is gonna be
the CSX Homestead subdivision here you can see the advanced warning sign the
pavement markings this is Southwest 152nd Street so this is the first
crossing right after the Y which I’m gonna show you the first crossing after
the Y which is out of service it hasn’t seen a train since I think I think there
was a train here in 2006 one train that moved real cars that were stored over
there it’s out to here but there’s no what
there hasn’t many customers on the line since like twelve or thousand twelve or
2013 okay so right now I am heading westbound
on Southwest 150 second Street one five two I’m running through the
Google Maps ticker this location they said this is the first crossing on the
line and what’s stopping that they should
very nice about it Friday and then here we’re going to see as CSX
a spine or homestead extension milepost 50 3.81 then here we we have AWC Hayes a
Sigma bass and invents this gate mechanism Ebell up top the cantilever is
Lincoln industries and then this is facing north east right well this rail
was put in in oh yeah in 2017 I guess it’s when when they had to haul
away though those real cars I told you about because maybe the line not the the
rail couldn’t not extend on the train and it would the world it would have
derailed so they had to swap it out so over there
about a mile down is the Y and then solder that white well that Y is used by
train uh-oh 721 which goes out west to collect the rocks at the Rock Creek and
then here we have tracked you oh by the way there’s a signal base sorry really
so this is chasing south east
you have a diagonal crossing here and this is about 4:30 p.m. so I’m right
in the middle of rush-hour traffic and you can see how crazy it is to so far
across the street but your humble servants your railroad archaeologist is
gonna try to do that for you by the way the lights up top or am i
likes sorry you know WC needs then we got that broken or crossing get up there and we have one on this side but man
this is class in this girl’s gonna be pretty tough okay guys so I made it to the median
right and then here we have oh no this one’s missing its visor and vents this
game mechanism WCA signal base w see these lights Novell traffic to stop that
red light and then here we have another WC haze a signal piece and the track view Southwest right there yeah this this club this grade was
recently done but here we can see the original rail and it’s from on 19 1934 original rail from 1934 okay LED lights brief these are WCS yeah WCA
is our signal base and vents this game mechanism and those are definitely WC
haze lights around alrighty guys so this is the first abandoned crossing on the
CSX homestead subdivision with the 1934 rail on it thank you for viewing look at
the old ties here please subscribe our light thank you over and out

    hello ladies and gentlemen
so this video you’re gonna see something I had already shown you but I’m gonna show you something else I hadn’t shown you on at the same location
so on that side we have a US&S tear drop bell right I think it’s the only one left
in Miami and I’m gonna get that so here we have a oh it’s the USNS and then here we
see the rails protecting it so this is a USNS signal base old from 1941 you see
the date there emergency contact info DOT tag safe tran lights all around and the
pinnacle from the seaboard days up top here we have track view west towards Hialeah some voodoo right there in a garbage bag sidewalk crossing so let me show you from this side this
is an original US&S tear drop bell safe tran lights all around
the rails over here too because the protection point US&S signal based also from 1941 WRRS bracket and you can see that that mast is pretty rusty yet it probably has some
interesting stories to tell so here are some well remove the ties and this is
track view east towards downtown Miami here you have a MI relay case and let me give you a shot of the to
drop bail from this side think that that might be the only one left in Miami
possibly South Florida do you guys know of any other teardrop elves please
comment below I’d love to know her or there’s another one because I really
this is the only one I’ve seen so alright guys please comment on that and
then thank you for viewing please subscribe or like take care over and out

Guys, this is the Homestead Subdivision, the last part of the CSX S line in Homestead Florida
this track is for all intents and purposes abandoned. Here we have some
some Mexicans harvesting, picking strawberries and now I am going to show
you the crossing at Southwest 304th ST is Kings Highway okay guys so there we have the fruit pickers and here we have the railroad by the way *clears throat* Southwest 10th Ave and Southwest 304th Street this is the crossing this is a a safe tran signal base with safe
tran lights cross buck, there’s an e dinger on that side, there we see the relay
case yeah these all have safe tran
signal bases track view North towards
Miami and track view south towards Homestead. You can see the wooden
crossing on the street there that is a very ancient crossing and then again we
have the safe tran base over here, safe Tran lights e dinger up top and the
cross buck so yeah guys and then this is facing West and this is facing
East and it’s starting to come down really hard so I’m gonna catch you guys
later please subscribe like or share
