Pedestrian Railroad Crossing Port of Miami

August 14, 2019

hello ladies and gentlemen RailROL82 here again today I’m going to show you guys a pedestrian railroad
crossing between American Airlines Arena and world-famous Bayside over here in
downtown Miami Florida okay these are these are the FEC tracks that go into the Port of
Miami you can see the drawbridge there in the distance they keep it raised and
when the train comes they lower it then that bridge is to Port Boulevard it goes exclusively into the Port of Miami it’s a it’s a dead end
and then here you have the bayside marina where they filmed episodes of
Miami Vice that’s where Don Johnson or Crockett detective Crockett lived with
Elvis alligator in the sailboat so before 1992 this used to be the access
into the Port of Miami then they build up they replace the drawbridge with that fixed bridge right there and then here is a pedestrian railroad
crossing there’s a lot of a lot of signs here, okay so this is the rxr that’s
take the small crossing sign for small cross buck and then here you have the
the big dog with the emergency contact info on the bottom it’ll be funny to
call that number and tell them that the crossing is malfunctioning right so it’s
crossing to seven three one three nine here you have track view east towards
the port of miami and track view yeah west towards off towards Miami, then you
have a broken the other sign just take you guys over here to see to
show you what it looks like so I’m guessing they have these gates
open because the Train either just passed or they’re expecting a train and then this is what it looks like from
here and if we were going back into Miami
this is what it would look like oh I’ve never seen one of these contraptions before. City of Miami Pedestrian Counter very helpful I never would have
figured that out give you another shot at bayside here
the palm trees very Miami those 18 wheelers are going into the port
bringing those containers, alrighty guys thank you for coming along with me
please subscribe or like thank you very much for viewing over and out

Hey Roly, I checked out the Homestead Sub today. For the most part its all cleaned up except between Bauer and Avocado Drive (296 St) where it's still a big mess. And yes, that awful "Tracks Out Of Service" sign is still up at Krome. UGH!!
    Nice video.

  • Reply Longmont Railway April 8, 2018 at 11:21 pm

Nice Pedestrian Crossing! They need to replace that other broken sign!

Signage is crazy. Advance warning signs? 8 feet from the crossing?? The only people they would serve would be cyclists, and that isn't enough warning. And then, stop signs? For who?? People? Bikes? Dogs? Alligators? Nobody is going to "stop" at that crossing. How stupid. Don't get me started on that tiny "crossbuck" which can't even use the FHWA typefaces…

Have you heard that Toys R Us is closing over 800 stores this year due to bankruptcy? This goes for Babies R Us as well.

I've always wondered why one is that crossbuck so small and yellow. Did you do a recording of the other crossing gates around there? There are some old WABCO gates still in service there! Excellent video as always my friend!

  • Reply Edler Moltimer April 9, 2018 at 8:10 pm

Well I didn't really realize that but they blow the horn really loud 4 time 3 long 1 short and the sign is gone I think

  • Reply Edler Moltimer April 9, 2018 at 8:32 pm

    Ok can't wait

  • Reply TheRobdock April 10, 2018 at 2:29 am

Wow! Small crossing, a shame the crossing sign got knocked over, I’m laughing that there’s emergency contact info when there’s no signals or crossing gate. A shame another drawbridge gone and now a fixed span.

  • Reply TheRobdock April 10, 2018 at 3:23 am

Well, the emergency contact info can be used to call for the down sign 🤷‍♂️
