Mascouche line inbound – 3/3 (downstream side)

December 3, 2019

Montreal’s Saint-Michel–Montréal-Nord station along Saint-Laurent
Subdivision railway. Regretably, this train line’s link into
downtown Montreal abandoned 6th January 2020. Our line to
commence temporarily terminating at Montreal’s north end station
Ahuntsic come 6th January 2020, and then from 2022 at new station,
next stop inbound there, named A40 after numbering of expressway. Calling at Sauvé intermodal station (Orange metro line) that thrice-
per-week intra-provincial trains are also scheduled to stop at. Peeking at Sauvé metro station. Passing over Lachute Sub (St Jérôme line) by its Chabanel station. St Joseph Oratory at right upon Mt Royal, Université de Montréal tower at left.
This station itself serving as interim terminus as of 6th January 2020. Passing over Laurentian autoroute not far from its south end. Diverging from Saint-Laurent Sub other side of train. Boarding Deux-Montagnes Sub (Deux-Montagnes line / REM). Along with three
completely new branches, entire sub itself being converted to complementary
suburban metro network à la London’s Docklands Light Railway; driverless
Réseau express métropolitain (REM) to open in three phases from 2021 to 2023. Our line to terminate here 2022 at new REM and train stations
named A40 after Metropolitan expressway we then pass underneath,
then leaving Montreal and entering Town of Mount-Royal (TMR).
In layout, function and raison d’être, TMR is country’s only classic garden city. Leaving TMR, re-entering Montreal. Passing underneath Adirondack Sub (St Jérôme line). Passing underneath Blue metro line that new REM station being
inserted here will interchange with at Édouard-Montpetit station. Along with the Deux-Montagnes line trains, our line will have forever
stopped servicing our segment of this Subdivison 6th January 2020 so
that conversion at downgrading its right of way can be fully executed. Passing underneath Green metro line that new REM station being
inserted here will interchange with at McGill station. Service ends at downtown Montreal’s Central station.
