Mars Mission

August 30, 2019

We will invest more than $3,000,000,000 to conduct research on an advanced heavy
lift rocket a vehicle to efficiently send into orbit
the crew capsules propulsion systems and large quantities of supplies needed
to reach deep space. so, the point is what we’re looking
for is not just to continue on the same path, we
want to leapt in to the future. We want major break-through’s. A transformative agenda for NASA. The bottom line is, nobody is more committed manned space flight human exploration of space, than I am. and by 2025 we expect new space craft design for a long
journeys to allow us to begin the first ever crew missions beyond the
moon into deep space. so will start by the mid 2030s. I believe we
can send human to orbit, mars and return them safely to earth and landing on mars will follow, I expect to be around to see it. sending alternately tens of thousands of protentionally millions of people to mars and going out there and exploring the
stars. He is the CEO and chief technology officer of
ten-year-old space exploration technologies as it is more formally known. He has staged a $100,000,000
of the fortune he made founding paypal to pursue of lofty goal; to make access to space an order of
magnitude cheaper that it is right now. Is there any doubt in your mind this is the
way nasa and the country should go as looks towards the future in space. No, not at all, its not, this is not a path, its the only path, but if this doesn’t succeed nothing will, so, what we are looking at here (miles) is misison control. This is where we operate dragon from. Gwynne Shotwell the president at of spaceX walked me through the factory. Here they are aiming for the holy grail,
a fully and rapidly reuseable rocket. It would revolutionize access to space.
These engines actually are reuseable How many flights can you get?
I know we have tested at 20. Those engines are built here from
scratch and that is typical. More than two-thirds of falcon and dragon parts milled made and maded right here. Trying to push the start-of-the-art technology so if we use suppliers who use the old technology then we are not going to have a very revensionally rocket. The falcon dragon combination is obviously but simply than a space shuttle. No wings, wheels or cargo compartment. The cost of launching anything into
space on the shuttle was about $10,000 a pound. MusK believes he can drive that number
down, below $1000 dollars. Veteran space journalist Stephen
Young believes Musk can do it. think that going back to something a
little more basic sorta capsule with space x is going to fly uh… will reduce costs dramatically and
an open up a lot more opportunities for researching over. But hauling underwear
and food at the space station is one thing flying astronauts is another
Space x wants to start doing that by 2015. It turns out they’ve been thinking about
flying humans from the outset. ..and that’s why the falcon 9 has been designed with much higher factors of safety; more than the standard expendable
launch vehicle. (launch, launch) the testing is exhausted to what
engineers are call the corners of the flight envelope. .. meaning the absolute edge of the
vehicles capability. you can rest assured that on a on a nasa driven human spaceflight
inspiration program we will test in all the corners. .. so its um.. this would cost us a little [][][][]] [ro fix] the action exactly right Everyone agrees sending
humans to space will never get cheaper if this remains the approach. But the old guard is leery of retoolment.
Orion is designed to take up seven astronauts into low earth orbit and
beyond, but where, destination has changed repeatedly. And
was going to be a lifeboat for the space station is going to take root to
the station is gonna go over to the moon of one point that it was going to go to
mars, and now might go to an asteroid – Is this is really the way to build space
program. Well… noo. (laughter) No. is this anyway to run a railroad At the political and budgetary winds
keep shifting The obama administration canceled the
family of rockets it would have lofted orion into space under the constellation
scheme congress got into the act. Senator Bill Nelson a florida democrat
who flew on columbia in 1986 with current nasa administrator
Charlie Bolden by insisted the agency build a heavy lift rocket the uses shuttle drive components. Again, with no clear destination in mind.
Is a rocket to no where? Its a rocket to Mars. That’s the goal, the president has
said that the goal, and that’s where we’re going

people are willing to colonize mars, we should of been sending people and supplies years ago. people are willing to die for mars, they are true explorers, lets get this done, please start the mission to mars. we have the technology lets use it.

The spaceships in 0:58 look a lot like nazi spacecraft protoypes…

get your ass to mars! –

I have had a premonition, NASA if your reading this, make sure you set the trajectory correctly taking in to consideration the weight of the passengers, or the ship will miss mars.
