Live PD: Running on the Tracks (Season 3) | A&E

August 17, 2019

– I’m just en
route to a subject. He’s on the train
tracks, reportedly almost got hit by one
of the Acela trains. And he’s still on
the tracks now. There he is. They’re going to call
the train company and shut down the trains
for the time being to make sure that
he doesn’t get hit. I’m going to try and get eyes
on him at the overpass up here. I don’t know if there’s a good
spot to get down on the tracks, though. – Hey, buddy. That’s 26.
He’s running. Are the trains stopped?
do we have confirmation that they’ve stopped? DISPATCH (ON RADIO): We
do not have confirmation they’re stopped. We have called Amtrak. We’re waiting for
them to call us back. – All right. 10-4. He’s running right
by the bridge. I’m waiting to get on the tracks
until we know that they’ve stopped. DISPATCH (ON RADIO): He’s
running under the bridge. [sirens] 11, he’s running from you. Keep channel one clear. Channel one clear. All units use channel
two for regular traffic. Keep channel one clear. – Whoa. There he is. This is 26. I’m out with him. DISPATCH (ON RADIO):
26, you’re out with him? Your location? – We’re just going to– – [bleep] with me.
– No, you’re not. – Train station. – We’re going to check
you for any weapons. – No. I don’t have any weapons. – All right. – Just cuff him. – You’re not under arrest. We’re going to cuff
you for your safety. OK? You’re not under arrest. We’re going to cuff
you for your safety. – Nowhere. I’m just going to make
sure you’re not suicidal. Why were you walking
on the tracks? – Where do you live? – OK. Why were you running
from me then? – We’re good. – Do you have an ID
on you or anything? – No. – You’re not under arrest,
you’re not in trouble. We just want to make
sure you’re not suicidal. – You realize it’s illegal
to walk on the tracks, right? – Yeah. – You see tags, OK,
but it’s still illegal. It’s called. trespassing. – You didn’t? – Did anybody see a pair of
sunglasses that went flying off my head? – Right here. – Perfect. I wasn’t very acrobatic
on those steps. – It’s not quite sure
you’re going there, pal. – You’re probably getting
arrested for trespassing. – I think pretty much
anybody in their right mind would understand that
walking on the train tracks is trespassing. Based on Amtrak, they feel that
he would be better off served going to the hospital
and having an evaluation of his mental status. So we’ll get him checked out
and they’ll forego any charges on him.

I'd never go walking on train tracks, but I never knew it was private property.
