My bird is perfectly comftrable with jumping and even flying to my hand as soon as i say its name. But hates beeing tuched, ive been trying to find information on this subject but can't find anithing. If you have any experience/ knolege on this "problem", please share it with me.
Do NOT clip your birds wings. It is unnatural and makes the bird depressed. They are built to fly. If you can't handle a flying pet, get a different pet.
Clipping should be optional. I admit I had my birds clipped for a while, only so he could get used to our house. Otherwise he would keep flying into walls to the point he was bleeding. I didn't clip it to the point he couldn't fly at all, only to where when he would fly, he would glide down to safety. He could still fly short distance until he got used to his surroundings.
You shouldn’t really clip a birds wings..it does sometimes clam up muscles or so i’ve heard from people with birds. When i get my first bird, i refuse to clip to wings unless i need to, or my mom gets annoyed with it 😂

My cockatiel likes me to pet her inside of her cage and loves to come out when it’s time for her to and she steps up when she’s out but when I try with her to step up when she is in her cage she freaks out but she will step up on command outside. Any tips on how to solve this??
My bird is around 8 months old and I didn’t need any of this to train him no perch no wings clipped 😂 I mean I don’t agree with clipping your birds wings
There's no need to clip a birds wings. It's cruel and causes the bird frustration & affects their balance. Many birds are hand tame & also free fly. It just means a bit more effort, which, if you love your build, will be worth it.
If you have two parakeet , unfortunately they won’t talk. There should be no mirrors in the cage. The bird that sees himself in the mirror will not be jealous and talk. For each free time, repeat the same word repeatedly over the course of the day. You will see your budgie start talking after a while.
The easiest way to make the parakeet speak is to record the words you want the bird to say on the phone and put them next to the cage. The bird will try to speak as he hears the words.
actually its hard to not know that fact at the end of the video because anyone who doesnt have a bird wouldnt have watched that far and anyone who does have a bird already knew that
Well most of you live in the states where most birds lose the fear factor to humans due to being bred in captivity… Try that with untame birds caught in the wild without having to at least trim them one time
One of our family friend’s has a bird and they had a graduation party at a beach. We went their and they brought their bird, they took it out of the cage and It never flies away, it just stays with you and will go on your shoulder and lets you hold it. It even fell asleep on my hands and I only met it that day. I would say that was the tamest bird I have ever been with. That made me want a bird and my dad really liked it also. The only reason we cant get a bird is because my cat eats birds and chipmunks so it would be really bad if we got a bird.
Why is everyone saying it’s bad to clip their wings, they grow back, and anyways if you don’t and you try to tame them they’ll keep on flying around and hitting the wall and injuring their wings and other body parts, it’s better to clip them than having your cockatiel getting injured…
My first bird came with a friend, and my friend bought that bird. When she was over and Indigo and Tango (their names) were together, they would come out with no problem as long as the other came out. We did all the steps except for the stick one. Then, my friend had to leave so she took Tango with her, and then left. A few days, my bird was just chirping at the mirror. Then he started to dislike me, he would cower whenever I tried to pick him up. I had to grab him out of the cage, which he would bite me a lot. (But I had to do that because the dog was near.) He always flies away from me, very rarely he stays on my finger or shoulder.
if your bird flys off oh darn I forgot the clipping stage they said at the beginning wtf if you said you clipped the wings they shouldn’t be flying just enough power to glide down 😂

I gave my parakeet a little nudge while he was on the perch and my hand was in front of him he stood on the palm not my finger but still amazing

So you can say anything right so not just step up or up up. Something like come would work right

You don’t need to clip the bird wings, if it trusts you, and you can just trim it’s wings so it can still fly but not as high.
Why does the wings be clipped thats cruel im never doing that they need to fly its good for their lungs
DONT CLIP YOUR BIRDS WINGS PLS DONT NEVER CLIP YOUR BIRDS WINGS IT WONT BE ABLE TO FLY AND SOME BIRDS MAY GET SICK OR EVEN DIE!!!
Nudging then on their chest isn’t the best idea.
Clipping a birds wing is like cutting off your arms
I don’t have hands ;-;
you dont need to clip wings
NEVER CLIP UR BIRDS WINGS NEVER SWOOSH UR HAND BY UR BIRD NEVER USE A PURCH FFS U PEOPLE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT A BIRD
I got my parakeet female yesterday and it's not eating or drinking. HELP!

A hand? Welp, a leg must be good enough…
My African gray is biting me hard 😂
You dont have to clip the wings
thats not a parakeet or cockatoo its a cockatiel

You know what I already had budgies and it was so hard to tame them so I just got a tamed cockatiel!!!
(Yeah I am so lazy)😑🙄
clipping birds wings is normal but the reason ppl do it so there bird dont fly into a wall and huet himself
But I don't wanna clip their wings!!!!
I don't know how to give my bird a treat since it doesn't bite it runs away
Ooohhhhhh,so thaats why my owner does all those weird things to me and say "up up". I just thought he was a total jackass
Why do you need to clip the birds wings
You will need a hand people with no hands “DAMN IT”
I don't agree with clipping their wings. I have 5 birds and they have never been clipped and they are all really good at step up and recall
But when I put my finger the birds sometimes bites me
I dont even have a bird
Instructions unclear, trained an elephant
Wat if you don’t have a hand❌

My bird just does this on his own
Real amazing
My bird also did
if your bird flys off oh darn I forgot the clipping stage they said at the beginning wtf if you said you clipped the wings they shouldn’t be flying just enough power to glide down 😂
My bird hates hands
What is that cage called
I dont have hand what should i do
My birds isnt clipped and i still did this. There werent any problems but i might clip them so he doesnt accidentally hit into a wall
Where did u get ur cage
Whenever I do what you say the bird tries to bite my finger SUper frustrating that DANG BIRD!!!!!!
It won't step on a perch yet lets you stroke its head.Strange,I thought the bird letting you stroke it came well after stepping up training.
