October 12, 2019

[Music] Hi, I’m Myron Martin, president and CEO of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. Here at The Smith Center we have a constant and collective voice for why the arts are important for young people and we provide arts education experiences for tens of thousands of students each year. Our mission is to inspire artists, audiences and a diverse community through great performances, enriching experiences and engaging educational programming. So today, I want to tell you about another educational program for students that we support from the U.S. Census Bureau. It’s called Statistics in Schools. The Statistics in Schools program brings data to life in the classroom. The program provides free activities and resources for K through 12 educators across multiple subjects and grade levels that help students learn and apply data from everyday life. With these resources, teachers can help their students develop the skills they need in today’s data-driven world. So visit statistics and schools at their website and learn more at census.gov/schools. [Music]
